The shipping was as much as the item and the item was not as advertised. The return policy required you to ship the item back in the original packaging UNOPENED.

I had to open the item to discover that it didn’t fit the tool I bought it for. Everything went in the trash. Hard Lesson Learned.

I was looking at this product for probably 45 minutes or an hour and thinking about if I should buy it or not. I thought: “why should I spend $5 of my wife’s hard earned money for this little piece of metal? Shouldn’t leatherman tools have come with one included when u buy it?” I mean, the tool comes with a carrying case, but if you use it a lot, it’s annoying to constantly put it back in the case, and the clip is very useful. So I put it in my wishlist so that I could revisit it and think about it some more. I mean, I think the clip is worth about a dollar, but amazon doesn’t let you put in bids. I see there are other people selling used ones for $2.33 now, but that wasn’t there when I first looked at it, and its still $1.33 more than I want to spend. And I didn’t want to pay shipping on this thing. I mean, you’re gonna have to wake up a lot earlier in the morning to rip me off, u know what I’m sayin’?

Anyway, my little sister bought it for me partly because she feels sorry for me wishing for $5 pieces of metal and partly because that’s how her and her husband roll. Her statement to the current financial crisis is: “why doesn’t everyone that lost their job just get a new job? They could wash my husband’s Lamborghini, or with training, they could give my dog daisy a french manicure. Oh, I’m so tired of hearing people whine”

Well, I learned that if I’m going to put stuff on my wishlist, I should set my sights higher than $5. I think I’m going to update my wishlist and put on some wicked sunglasses and driving gloves for the next time they let me race the lambo. As far as my review for this little $5 metal clip goes, its pretty useful and I would recommend it if you can get it for $1 with free shipping OR find a buyer in the family member that parks in the handicap parking spot because there was no valet and the ticket is only $250.

The pocket clip is nice and will holds the Leatherman firmly in your pocket.

But if you are planning to use the Lanyard Ring, think again.

It is very large and clumsy.

I tried to use it on my Wave with the leather sheath.

Since the ring is very big, the sheath can hardly close and it bends the ring.

Bottom line, i wouldn’t recommend it if you are planning to use the ring.

These 2 attachments would better be termed “disposable quick releases” instead of a lanyard ring or clip. You will choose one or the other (not both at the same time) and ‘install’ it by pushing the outer quick-release lever and pressing the unit into the open slot you’ll see on your Leatherman at the end where the quick-release sits. You will -not- be loosening the fastener at the other end and attaching it permanently… this thing is -meant- to pop off in a heartbeat and that’s exactly what it will do if you ever trust it, as soon as something presses against the release lever! Vague excuses about it being meant to help the tool ride inside your pocket aside, I have to admit I just don’t get it. A lanyard attachment point that can’t be trusted is NOT a lanyard, but an invitation to loss. Anyway, the fit and finish of the two is up to the usual Leatherman standards, it doesn’t cost much… but You Have Been Warned. The only rational use I can think of for this is if you chain the lanyard ring to your belt, then detach the Leatherman from it when you want to use it. It would be a quick and easy motion and the lanyard chain would supply some extra insurance… too bad once you install it you won’t be able to fit it back in the sheath! So let’s use the clip… oh wait, you can’t use both at once! No, this package is NOT well thought out. I’m sure some will find it useful but for most folks, it’s just a good way to lose your tool.
