I’ve had the fan for nearly a year, and I can’t complain about the way it works. No problems. Lights: fine. Fan: fine. It’s been absolutely silent so that sometimes at night while I’m working on the computer in the dark, I have to turn on the light to know whether the fan is on or not. Buttttttttt … I do wish it looked better. I mean, its quality level is fine, but the design is starting to feel dated, or maybe it’s that it reminds me of generic fans. Do I sound like a spoiled fan snob? I’m not. Honestly, most of the time, I’m not looking at the ceiling and when I saw this review suggestion pop up, I had to remind myself that I even owned this fan (that I’m sitting under right now). But the main reason I purchased the fan was because it was much cheaper than the fans chosen for the great room and master bedroom, and yes, those fans are much more expensive, but I really love them. This fan? I like it, but I don’t likelike it. Still, it hasn’t broken on me even in the middle of a Deep South hot summer, so I recommend it to anyone who isn’t as persnickety about having a butterface fan like I am.

I owned two other Hunter ceiling fans (44″ Stonington’s from Home Depot) before purchasing the Summer Breeze Plus. My love for the Stonington fans prompted the purchase of the Summer Breeze Plus, however I do not love the SBPlus as much as I love the Stoningtons. According to the Hunter web site the SBPlus had the best air flow rating for 52″ fans, but the air does not flow anywhere near as well as it does with the Stoningtons. I’m not sure if it is the fault of the fan or the fault of the rectangular room. (The Stonington fans are in rooms that are almost square.) Otherwise, the New Bronze looks great, it is very quiet, and it does not wobble at all.
